A Greek Orthodox priest accused of sexually molesting an 18-year-old man and a 16-year-old youth he met through his affiliation with the St. Cross Episcopal Church in Hermosa Beach pleaded not guilty Tuesday to felony charges of sexual battery and molesting a person under 18. Stanley Adamakis, 47, a volunteer youth counselor at the church, was charged as someone with a prior child molestation conviction.

A Hermosa Beach minister resigned his post Tuesday, accepting the blame for allowing a Greek Orthodox priest, who last week was charged with sexual assault, to counsel a church youth group for the last five months. Father Richard E. Wescott announced in a letter to the church's rector his intention to leave St. Cross Episcopal Church, where he had served as second in command for 2 1/2 years.
