"South Park" and Record Store Day aren't two things that naturally associate themselves with one another, but that's what's happening this year, as the long-running Comedy Central show is releasing a limited-edition vinyl record in conjunction with the annual day celebrating independent record stores. Two songs heard on the series, "San Diego" and "Gay Fish," are being released on a 7-inch vinyl record limited to 2,000 copies. Record Store Day is celebrated on the third Saturday in April.

PHOENIX -- A walk-off, 1-0 defeat to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday at Chase Field marked the end of the Dodgers' three-day break from a blood feud with the San Diego Padres. The Dodgers will return to Dodger Stadium on Monday to face the Padres, with whom they brawled four days earlier in San Diego. The bench-clearing incident resulted in a fracture in the non-throwing shoulder of Dodgers starter Zack Greinke, who underwent surgery and is expected to be out for eight weeks. The player who injured Greinke, Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin, won't play in the three-game series; he dropped his appeal and agreed to start serving his eight-game suspension Sunday.

A sports bookie was sentenced Thursday to 30 months in federal prison for a conspiracy to bribe former University of San Diego basketball star Brandon Johnson. Paul Joseph Thweni, 28, of Spring Valley pleaded guilty in San Diego federal court to a single count of conspiracy. Along with the 30 months in prison, District Judge Anthony Battaglia also sentenced him to three years' probation. Thweni and co-defendants allegedly induced Johnson, the school's all-time leading scorer, to take bribes so that gamblers could win bets in Las Vegas.

PHOENIX - Matt Kemp and several other Dodgers sat on sofas in the visiting clubhouse Friday at Chase Field, trading jokes and watching the Masters. Clayton Kershaw studied film of the Arizona Diamondbacks' hitters, whom he would face later that night. Zack Greinke was on the 15-day disabled list, scheduled to undergo an operation on his left, non-throwing shoulder the next day that was expected to sideline him for eight weeks. The Dodgers were trying to move on. A collective calm had replaced the explosive rage they felt Thursday night in San Diego, where Padres outfielder Carlos Quentin took offense to an innocent-looking pitch that struck him on the arm, prompting him to charge the mound, where he fractured Greinke's left collarbone.

San Diego Padres' player Carlos Quentin breaks Zack Greinke's collarbone after being hit by a pitch. But let us see clearly what Carlos Quentin really is, a criminal who admits that he was settling an old score. It was not just a fight in the heat of the moment. I would be facing prosecution from the district attorney for such actions. Unfortunately, thugs who are professional athletes often get a pass on criminal behavior, particularly if they hide their criminal actions within the confines of a ballpark.
