DOE and 5 Utilities to Build Large-Scale Fuel Cell: A first-of-its-kind, utility-size fuel cell will be built in Santa Clara, Calif., in a project sponsored by the U.S. Department of Energy, the Electric Power Research Institute--the utility industry's research arm--and five California utilities, including the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power, Southern California Edison and the City of Vernon Light and Power Department.
