Santa Clarita city officials plan to buy land along planned recreational trails with a $492,000 grant received from the California Parks and Recreation Department. The land will be a buffer to keep residents from leaving the trails designed for use by pedestrians, bicyclists and equestrians, and thus disrupting animals living along the Santa Clara River and other riparian and wetland areas.
