The Santa Paula City Council has approved the formation of a federally funded transit agency that will provide hourly bus service on weekdays in the Santa Clara Valley and dial-a-ride service in Santa Paula and Fillmore for two years. The new bus service is expected to begin the first week of 1994. Federal transportation funds will pay 88% of the about $1.6 million needed to operate the Valley Intercity Service Transit Authority during the two-year trial period.
