While changing lanes Monday evening on the Pomona Freeway at the southbound Orange (57) Freeway interchange, Francisco Neri of Rowland Heights collided with a vehicle driven by Scott Baker of Sacramento. Although his pickup truck was engulfed in flames after overturning and skidding 100 feet, Neri suffered only minor injuries, and Scott was unhurt. MINNEAPOLIS -- A week and a half ago, the Minnesota Twins were 9 1/2 games back in the AL Central race and reeling after an embarrassing three-game sweep in Toronto. Things have changed dramatically in 11 days. With division leader Cleveland and second-place Detroit slumping, the Twins are again within reach of a playoff berth. "We smell blood right now," Torii Hunter said after Minnesota's 1-0 win against the Indians on Sunday. "We're ready to go."
