Scott Recknor is the Rat and the vagabond of UC Irvine's volleyball team. He has come to be known as Rat, short for Rattler, because of the unending ribbing he gives his teammates. "He'll rip just about anything and not let up," says Bill Ashen, the team's coach. "You can't come back at him. If you do, he'll put you in the bag . . . Everybody kind of knows when he starts to just sit and take it."
