Scottie Pippen has filed a countersuit against a Malibu man who alleged the former NBA All-Star assaulted him at a restaurant last year. Camran Shafighi filed a $4-million lawsuit against Pippen, accusing him of a “brutal and unjustified physical attack" that allegedly occurred outside upscale Nobu restaurant after Shafighi had sought a picture with the former Chicago Bull. But in a cross-complaint filed earlier this month, Pippen's lawyer Mark J. Geragos alleged Shafighi cursed at Pippen using racial slurs, spat on him and his children and said, “I'm going to kill you.” The cross-complaint also alleges that Shafighi was “extremely aggressive and noticeably intoxicated” and calls for unspecified damages “according to proof.” Reached Tuesday, Shafighi's attorney, Kathryn Lee Boyd, said she had no comment on the cross-complaint “at this time.” In August, about a month after Shafighi filed his complaint, the Los Angeles County district attorney's office announced Pippen would not face assault charges after prosecutors determined there was insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Pippen was guilty of committing a crime.

Chicago Bulls legend Scottie Pippen will not face assault charges for allegedly pushing and spitting on a man at Malibu's Nobu restaurant in an altercation that left the other man unconscious. The Los Angeles County district attorney's office determined that there was insufficient evidence to prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Pippen was guilty of committing a crime. Pippen was dining with his wife, his children, two brothers and his mother-in-law when Camran Shafighi asked for a photo with the basketball legend.

Former Chicago Bulls star Scottie Pippen thinks that some fans have been too hard on point guard Derrick Rose. Rose sustained a torn anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee last May and missed the entire NBA season while rehabilitating the injury despite being medically cleared to practice in five-on-five situations in mid-February. He received a lot of criticism for not returning after his doctor gave him the go-ahead. "I was kind of surprised people turned on him knowing the difficulty of Derrick's injury," Pippen told reporters at Nike's pro-am basketball league at Whitney Young High School in Chicago on Saturday.

Scottie Pippen is being sued for $4 million by a 49-year-old man who said he was physically attacked by the NBA Hall of Famer at a Malibu restaurant last month. The suit alleges that Camran Shafighi asked Pippen for a photograph for his girlfriend's 12-year-old son but instead got a “brutal and unjustified physical attack” that included being spit on in the face, shoved and punched so hard he ended up on the ground and later in the hospital with a head injury. “At no time did or could Mr. Shafighi physically provoke or fight back, as he was knocked unconscious with the first blow,” the lawsuit said.
