The City Council last week authorized the purchase of three new trucks for the city's parks and code-inspection departments. The trucks will cost about $20,000 each and were selected at the end of a bidding process. The city will buy two mini-trucks from Huntington Beach Dodge that will be used by two building inspectors. Currently, the inspectors use their own vehicles while on the job and receive a monthly allowance from the city. Sometimes, the allowances total $400 a month.
