Nearly two years after three Santa Monica women were kidnapped and raped in separate incidents, police Monday released a new composite sketch of the suspect known as the Southside Rapist. At a news conference Monday, Santa Monica Police Chief James T. Butts Jr. released the drawing by Jean Boylan, the composite artist who drew the widely circulated sketch of the Unabomber suspect.

A serial rapist who attacked two women and triggered widespread neighborhood fear in south Santa Monica last month may be responsible for the assault on a jogger in northern Santa Monica, police said. Detectives said they will be treating the rape of a 55-year-old jogger abducted from Montana Avenue just after dawn Nov. 11 as perpetrated by the same suspect wanted in attacks on Oct. 4 and Oct. 8 several miles south. The physical description of the man matches in all cases, Sgt.
