An accusation filed by the state attorney general's office against Hector H. Arnazzi, 40, charges the doctor with gross negligence for using "a method which more closely resembled simulated sexual intercourse than any type of ovarian massage." John Rhode, an attorney for Arnazzi, said his client "flatly denies" any sexual misconduct.

The litigation over sexual misconduct at Miramonte Elementary has resulted in a struggle over which documents should be part of the public record. This includes testimony that a former teacher had alerted her principal about sexual misconduct by Mark Berndt, who was subsequently arrested and later convicted of lewd conduct. The Los Angeles Unified School District has sought broad confidentiality over documents related to the trial, including some depositions from key witnesses and records from the law-enforcement investigation.

The Times published a retraction on March 15 acknowledging that a front-page story on Dec. 7 falsely accused Occidental College of covering up 27 cases of sexual assault in 2012. We appreciate the paper setting the record straight. But the falsehood - spread via the Associated Press and amplified through social media - has caused lasting harm to Occidental's reputation that cannot be undone with an "editor's note" on Page A4. Compounding matters, The Times has failed to report the substantial steps Occidental has taken to deal with sexual misconduct.

Sinclair was sentenced to a reprimand and no jail time for mistreating a subordinate with whom he had a three-year adulterous affair, ending a tumultuous court-martial that focused national attention on the military's uneven response to sexual misconduct in the ranks. A military judge, Col. James L. Pohl, also ordered Sinclair, 51, to forfeit $5,000 of pay per month for four months and pay restitution of $4,156 for misusing his government charge card.
