Florida's offense last year was uglier than a wicked witch from Oz. Some weeks, the police should have secured the huddle's perimeter with caution tape and given the admonition, "Move along folks, there's nothing to see here. " The only thing worse than the 14-7 victory over Missouri was the 27-20 win over Louisiana Lafayette. Or maybe it was the 27-14 win over Bowling Green. Florida's defense forced three interceptions against Georgia but couldn't overcome its own six turnovers in a 17-9 loss.

So Manti T'eo goes in the first round, but USC's Matt Barkley doesn't? With less than three weeks to go before the NFL draft, that's a distinct possibility. The Times projects four safeties, two guards and the controversial Notre Dame linebacker to go in the opening round, but only one quarterback. A look at how the first round could unfold: 1. CHIEFS - Luke Joeckel, T, Texas A&M: If they don't sign Branden Albert to a long-term deal, the Chiefs need a capable blind-side bodyguard for newly acquired quarterback Alex Smith.

A federal antitrust lawsuit filed Friday accused the NCAA and 11 conferences of fixing prices by capping the value of athletic scholarships. The lawsuit in U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota is the latest in a surge of litigation targeting the NCAA. This is at least the fourth lawsuit this year related to the gap between scholarships and the actual cost of attendance. The suit filed Friday is believed to be the first antitrust action against the NCAA to include a female plaintiff -- former Kennesaw State basketball player Ashley Holliday.

The names of the draft prospects that will be at Radio City Music Hall on April 25 for the 2013 NFL draft have been announced, but not on the list are former USC quarterback Matt Barkley and former Notre Dame linebacker Manti Te'o. The 23 players who have accepted invitations from the NFL will wait in the green room until their name is called by Commissioner Roger Goodell. But there's no guarantee that'll happen the first night -- last year six players were still in the green room after the first round.

If there was any doubt, the NFL is still tackle football. Five of the first 19 picks in the opening round of the 2013 draft were offensive tackles, including three of the first four selections. Three guards and a center went too on a Thursday night when the strong, silent types found their voice. "It's always nice when the O-line gets some respect," said the Jacksonville Jaguars' Luke Joeckel, chosen second after the Kansas City Chiefs' Eric Fisher -- the first time the NFL draft has started tackle-tackle.

INDIANAPOLIS - Oklahoma's Lane Johnson ran nearly as fast as Baltimore receiver Anquan Boldin, leaped as high as Cincinnati receiver A.J. Green, and matched the broad jump of New England running back Stevan Ridley. Were Johnson, say, a safety, his performance at the NFL scouting combine would have been reasonably impressive. But this boggles the mind: Johnson is a 6-foot-6, 303-pound offensive tackle. "Think about those three things for a 300-pound offensive tackle and put that in perspective of what he can be," said NFL Network draft analyst Mike Mayock, who said Johnson is "going to end up somewhere in the 10-15 range in this draft, and he has the ability to be an All-Pro left tackle.

INDIANAPOLIS - Manti Te'o completed his most grueling drill of the NFL scouting combine Saturday and, though his heart rate might have been up, he didn't appear to break a sweat. Facing a sea of reporters for the first time since news broke of the fake-dead-girlfriend hoax, the former Notre Dame linebacker stood at the lectern and answered questions for 14 minutes, showing poise, humility and remorse about his involvement - even though his level of participation in the ruse remains unclear.
