A 24-minute documentary about the 2006 fight to save a South Central Los Angeles community farm from being sold to developers is being screened in the shorts program at the Palisades Film Festival on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. "South Central Farm: Oasis in a Concrete Desert," directed by Sheila A. Laffey, highlights the events leading up to and following the destruction of the farm, including involvement in the protest efforts by celebrities such as Daryl Hannah, Joan Baez and Willie Nelson.
