Two people were killed Sunday afternoon in separate shootings in Panorama City and Van Nuys, police said. Though the shootings occurred two hours apart within three miles of each other, police said they don't believe the incidents are related. At about 3:30 p.m., a woman in her 30s was found dead on a walkway in the 14600 block of Blythe Street in Panorama City, said Sgt. Ted Morse of the Los Angeles Police Department's Van Nuys Division. She is believed to be the victim of a drive-by shooting.

A father was fatally shot and his son seriously wounded Thursday night as they waited in the drive-through line of an In-N-Out Burger in Mission Hills, the apparent victims of gang-related violence, Los Angeles police said. Robert Desantiago, 46, died during surgery at a nearby hospital where his son Louis, 24, drove him after the shooting. Both San Fernando residents were shot in the chest as they sat in their 1987 Suzuki Samurai outside the fast-food outlet at 11455 Laurel Canyon Blvd.

A North Hollywood man who stopped at a Sun Valley market to buy cigarettes was shot and killed early Sunday when he walked to a nearby parking lot to watch a fight and got into an argument with another onlooker, Los Angeles police said. Salvador Gonzalez Hueso, 22, had stopped at the market in the 8400 block of Sunland Boulevard at 1:50 a.m. He noticed some men fighting and joined eight to 10 others who were watching, Police Detective Larry Queen said.
