* Enron Corp. is close to selling its Portland General Electric unit, which it bought for $3.1 billion two years ago, to Sierra Pacific Resources Inc., people familiar with the talks told Bloomberg News. Enron will get slightly more than what it paid for the utility and a sale could be announced as soon as today. Both Enron and Nevada-based Sierra Pacific declined to comment.

Duke Energy Corp. will supply electricity and natural gas to Sierra Pacific Resources Corp. for the next three months, and Sierra Pacific will drop complaints with U.S. regulators against Duke over power contracts in 2001. Terms weren't disclosed. The three months cover the peak-demand period for power use. Sierra Pacific complained to regulators that Duke overcharged for power last year.
