The City Council has unanimously approved an 18-month extension of the closure of three streets off Skyline Drive where crime and trash dumping have been a problem. The roads are atop a hill where Signal Hill Petroleum operates several oil wells, Long Beach has a communications facility and Signal Hill houses a water tank. There are no houses on the hill. "We've had our share of problems up there," City Manager Ken Farfsing said.
