Three Lancaster residents, including a 12-year-old girl, were killed Saturday in a single-vehicle accident on the northbound 110 Freeway just north of downtown Los Angeles, according to the California Highway Patrol. Two women, ages 37 and 19, and the young girl were pronounced dead at the scene following the accident that occurred about 12:15 a.m. near the connector to the northbound 5 Freeway, authorities said. The driver of the GMC minivan, identified as a 55-year-old man, and several other passengers, including a 36-year-old man, a 13-year-old boy and a 4-year-old girl, all suffered minor to moderate injuries, authorities said.

Five people were killed and another person injured when their speeding vehicle crashed and burst into flames in Burbank early Saturday, authorities said. The vehicle crashed as it exited the 5 Freeway at Scott Road about 4:20 a.m., authorities said. The vehicle apparently crashed into a concrete pillar and became engulfed in flames. One of the passengers was ejected from the vehicle, police said. That person was transported to Providence Holy Cross Medical Center. Five people were confirmed dead at the scene, said Burbank Fire Capt.

A search-and-rescue team found the body of a missing Ojai woman at the bottom of a steep ravine north of Ojai on Monday afternoon, close to her mangled black Jeep, authorities said. Coroner's investigator Jim Wingate identified the woman as Amy Ellington, a 31-year-old mother who was reported missing Saturday by family members. Wingate said she apparently died in a single-vehicle accident. Ellington left her Ojai home the day before to drive to a relative's home in Pleasanton.

An elderly couple died in a single-vehicle accident Sunday in Laguna Woods, authorities said. Ellen Eckel, 78, and her husband, Charlie, 83, died at the scene when their 1993 Dodge Colt crashed into an embankment on Via Buena Vista about 11 a.m., said Lt. Hayward Miller of the Orange County Sheriff's Department. Charlie Eckel, the passenger, was wearing a seat belt, Miller said. He said it was unclear if the Ellen Eckel was wearing hers.

A Ramona man was found dead in his pickup truck early Thursday morning, apparently the victim of a single-vehicle accident, the coroner's office reported. The Ramona Fire Department was dispatched to California 78 near Haverford Road about 6 a.m. to investigate a vehicle that had run down an embankment. The body of Andrew Edward Kraus Jr., 22, was found in the driver's seat of his truck.

The dead were identified as Timothy R. Coultas, 23, of Santa Paula; his cousin, Michael Frick, 23, of Ventura; and Rebecca Singer-Beilin, 22, of Ventura. The driver of the 1997 Ford pickup was identified as Tomas E. Mercer Jr., 22, of Santa Paula.

Kenneth Marshall Glass, 16, of Thousand Oaks and Jordan Alexander Bass, 16, of Westlake Village, were pronounced dead at the scene after the crash, which occurred just after 1 a.m. on Westlake Boulevard near Hillcrest Drive, said Sheriff's Sgt.
