Who would guess that one of the cheeriest pop-rock songs on the radio these days was inspired by a tragedy? Smash Mouth's ubiquitous "Walkin' on the Sun," a wry ode to '60s idealism, was written nearly six years ago in San Jose by guitarist-songwriter Greg Camp--as the riots raged some 400 miles to the south in Los Angeles.
