Thousands of women and children cheered, clapped and chanted from the rooftops of shell-pocked downtown Mogadishu on Saturday as the first relief convoy to move with a U.S. Marine escort crossed the divided city's so-called Green Line, carrying a supply of desperately needed food from the port to a food depot on the other side of town. Across town from the peaceful Green Line, though, just two miles from the U.S.
