The RTD announced Thursday that it will continue to provide service after July 1 on two of its freeway express lines into downtown Los Angeles--Route 495 from Diamond Bar and Route 498 from Glendora. The fate of the lines, which carry about 1,400 commuters each weekday, had been in question after a Superior Court judge last week temporarily blocked funding of a new San Gabriel Valley transit system--known as Foothill Transit--that was scheduled to take over the routes.
