The Southern California Industrial Fund has completed a $35-million acquisition of an industrial portfolio in Commerce and Vernon. The purchase comprises eight buildings totaling 1,017,000 square feet. SCIF is a joint venture between the Magellan Group in Century City and the Bascom Group in Irvine. David Hasbrouck of Cushman & Wakefield represented SCIF and seller Harvey Investments/Warschaw Properties in the transaction.

* CenterTrust Retail Properties Inc., a Manhattan Beach-based real estate investment trust, has acquired three community shopping centers for an aggregate price of about $85 million. The properties and their purchase prices are the 266,728-square-foot Torrance Promenade in Torrance, $43 million; the 272,987-square-foot Mountain Square Shopping Center in Upland, $33 million; and 94,379 square feet of the 175,128-square-foot North Mountain Village in Phoenix for $8.9 million.

Irvine-based real estate investor Bascom Group has acquired the 474-unit Tennis Club Apartments in the San Fernando Valley's Warner Center commercial district. Bascom and its unidentified institutional financial partner last week bought the 30-year-old property from a limited partnership known as Warner Center Group for $41 million, or about $86,500 per unit.
