LAS VEGAS -- Manny Pacquiao, winning crucial points that came with his third-round knockdown of Juan Manuel Marquez, became super-featherweight champion Saturday night in another epic battle with the Mexican fighter. Four years after they first fought to a draw in the same Mandalay Bay Events Center, Pacquiao and Marquez split the voting among judges Duane Ford, who gave Pacquiao a 115-112 edge, and Jerry Roth, who saw Marquez winning, 115-112.

John McCain rolled to victory in big-state primaries across the nation Tuesday, but rivals Mike Huckabee and Mitt Romney notched enough wins to keep the race for the Republican nomination alive. McCain won primaries in California, New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Missouri, Delaware, Illinois, Oklahoma and Arizona, his home state. Huckabee, a former Arkansas governor who has appealed above all to white evangelicals, beat expectations across a large stretch of the Bible Belt.

In the dusky-blue dawn, dedicated voters lined up outside a Harlem elementary school well before 6 a.m. Tuesday, patiently waiting for the doors -- and the polling place inside -- to open. A few more arrived at the Henry Highland Garnet School on 135th Street, but by 7:30 a.m., the trickle turned into a stream. Sheila Abdus-Salaam, 55, a New York judge, voted for Sen. Barack Obama of Illinois shortly after 7 a.m. "He's everything our parents told us we could be," she said.

Jardine knocked Liddell down in the second round, and repeatedly landed scoring punches through the third round in a bout fought throughout in a stand-up striking position at Anaheim's Honda Center.

EACH night, Leslie, 16, and Adilene Munoz, 8, sleep restlessly in their parents' bed while their brother Marcos, 13, covers himself with a blanket on the floor beside them. Across the border in Tijuana, their parents lie awake in their small third-story apartment, feeling anxious and helpless. The family has been divided by the U.S.-Mexican border since Feb. 22, when immigration agents arrested and deported Abel Munoz and Zulma Miranda. The couple decided to leave behind their three U.S.

Diego Corrales couldn't beat Joel Casamayor or the scales. Casamayor won the WBC lightweight title Saturday night in Las Vegas with a split decision win over Corrales, who was forced to give up the belt a day earlier when he failed to make the 135-pound weight limit. In a fight that almost didn't happen because Corrales (40-4) couldn't make the weight, Casamayor (34-3-1) won the vacated title and the rubber match between the two fighters.
