Two men were stabbed early Monday on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, authorities say. The men were standing on the sidewalk near a pizza parlor on the south side of Hollywood Boulevard near Highland Avenue when the violence unfolded at about 1 a.m., KTLA reported , citing Los Angeles police. Both victims were stabbed in the neck and were treated by firefighters at the scene before being hospitalized in critical condition. No arrests have been made. A bit earlier and just a few blocks away, there was a double shooting outside of Hollywood nightclub.

A man was in custody late Friday in connection with the stabbings of three transients while they slept. The attacker left behind rambling "death warrants. " Los Angeles police Cmdr. Andrew Smith said Courtney Anthony Robinson was taken into custody shortly after 9 p.m. by an LAPD Hollywood gang officer. He has since been turned over to robbery-homicide detectives, Smith said. The detectives will question Robinson overnight, Smith said, adding that it's "unknown if he will be booked for the attempted murders at this time.

MURRYSVILLE, Pa. - The hallways were buzzing with pupils arriving for classes at Franklin Regional Senior High School when screams, shouts and the thunder of running feet broke the morning routine. "Run, run! He has a knife!" a teacher yelled Wednesday as a boy charged through the first-floor corridor, slashing and stabbing anyone who got in his way in a melee that unfolded like a scene from a horror film. He fought off a group of boys who tried to pin him down. By the time he was tackled by a security guard and vice principal, he had wounded at least 19 classmates, including three who underwent surgery for what doctors called deep, life-threatening puncture wounds.

Los Angeles and Santa Monica police are investigating at least three stabbings of homeless people as they slept and where typed and signed "death warrants" were left at the scene, according to several law enforcement sources. The victims, two men and a woman in their 50s, survived the attacks. The first incident was reported July 4 when a 56-year-old homeless man was found bleeding with a large "hunting-type" knife protruding from his back near the intersection of 3rd and Main streets in Santa Monica, according to the sources.

A homeless man who authorities suspect stabbed three Los Angeles-area transients while they slept and left behind rambling "death warrants" is believed to also be responsible for two other knife attacks in Santa Barbara, police said Saturday. Courtney Anthony Robinson, 38, called 911 on Friday evening and surrendered to police about 8:40 p.m. at a Hong Kong Express eatery in the center of Hollywood, said LAPD Cmdr. Andrew Smith. Robinson was "lucid" and was taken into custody without incident, Smith said.

Los Angeles police Tuesday announced the arrest of one of two Grant High School students sought in the stabbing of two schoolmates across the street from the Van Nuys campus Monday morning. A 16-year-old boy was arrested at 4:30 p.m. Monday at his home in Central Los Angeles on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon, Lt. Bruce Meyer said. The youth was taken to Sylmar Juvenile Hall, Meyer said.

Police said Tuesday that an 18-year-old had been arrested in the stabbing of two students after a high school basketball game. One of the teenage boys stabbed Monday night at St. Bernard High School in Playa del Rey remained hospitalized in critical condition while the other was released, police said.

A 29-year-old man died Sunday after being stabbed outside a house on the 500 block of Hamilton Street. Police and paramedics were called to the home at 11:45 a.m., said Loren Wyrick, a spokesman for the Police Department. The man was taken to Western Medical Center-Santa Ana, where he was treated for a stab wound to his upper torso, but died about 5 p.m. Police said the incident, which is under investigation, did not appear to be gang-related.

A man was arrested Thursday after he allegedly broke into his estranged wife's North Hollywood home, slashed her throat and stabbed her boyfriend's father in the head with a kitchen knife, police said. Their 14-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son witnessed the stabbings, and the girl was cut on the hand when she tried to protect her mother, according to Sgt. John Pasquariello of the Los Angeles Police Department's North Hollywood Division.

Two men are in critical condition after being stabbed multiple times during an argument in Burbank, authorities said. Burbank police are searching for whoever stabbed them, and detectives are in the neighborhood interviewing witnesses, Police Department spokesman Darin Ryburn said. Ryburn said the department received a 911 call around 3:50 p.m. Saturday. Police and fire officials found the men sitting in a parked vehicle in the 1000 block of East Angeleno Avenue, bleeding from multiple stab wounds.

Homicide detectives were called to the scene of two deaths Tuesday morning, one involving a stabbing in Norwalk, the other a shooting in Sun Valley, police said. In Norwalk, a man was found with stab wounds at about 6:50 a.m. at the intersection of Studebaker Road and Ferina Street. He was taken to a hospital, where he died. A spokesman for the Los Angeles County coroner's office said the man has not yet been fully identified and appears to be in his 50s. There was no immediate word of any suspects or arrests.

A 41-year-old man was sentenced Wednesday to 26 years to life in prison for the murder of a Burbank resident who was found on his neighbor's porch with 32 stab wounds six years ago. Jorge Villalobos of San Gabriel was found guilty of first-degree murder in the stabbing death of Glen Giles, who was found dead on Feb. 26, 2008, the Burbank Leader reported . Villalobos' sentence includes the possibility of parole. Through tears, relatives on Wednesday remembered Giles as a gentle giant with an infectious laugh who loved basketball.

Los Angeles police Monday night were looking for the killer or killers of a 63-year-old man who was fatally stabbed in Watts on Valentine's Day. Samuel Benton was lying on a sidewalk in the 1500 block of East 112th Street when he was spotted by a passerby about 7 p.m., the Los Angeles Police Department said.  Benton was taken to a hospital, where he died from his wounds. Police said detectives had not established a motive for the slaying. At least 72 homicides have been reported within a mile of Benton's killing since January 2007, according to The Times Homicide Report . A woman accused of stabbing four people at a West Hollywood Target store in May has been found mentally incompetent to stand trial. Layla Rosette Trawick, 34, was ordered sent to Patton State Hospital in San Bernardino County after doctors agreed that she was incompetent, Shiara Davila-Morales of the Los Angeles County district attorney's office said Wednesday. Trawick, of Antioch, Calif., was charged with four counts of attempted murder and five counts of assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the May 3 rampage.

Five people were stabbed after a fight broke out among suspected gang members at a party in Acton, authorities said. Salvador Balle, 25, of Canyon Country; Rubin Magana, 26, of Saugus; Raymond Moreno, 25, and Louis Ruiz, 18, both of Los Angeles, were taken to area hospitals and were in stable condition, Sgt. Steve Nelson of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said. The name of the fifth victim was not immediately available. The stabbings occurred Saturday night when a fight broke out in the driveway of a home where members of two gangs were having a party, Nelson said.

A reputed gang member has been arrested on suspicion of stabbing a man five times with a screwdriver outside an Altadena restaurant, law enforcement authorities said Monday. Juan Jose Cortez, 27, was being held Monday night at the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Altadena Station on $300,000 bail, according to online booking records. Department officials alleged that Cortez approached the victim Thursday as he was getting out a car with his family. Cortez began arguing and removed his shirt, exposing a gang tattoo, officials said in a statement.  "The suspect announced he was from a local gang as he tried to punch the victim," officials said.  Sheriff's officials said the two began to scuffle and the victim was attacked with the screwdriver.

A 25-year-old Tustin man is in custody after being accused of stabbing another man to death in the stomach late Sunday night, police said. Ubaldo Gutierrez, of Tustin, is suspected of stabbing the still-unidentified man at 10:29 p.m. inside a home in the 11000 block of Mount Drive in Garden Grove, authorities said. Police and firefighters, responding to a 911 call, said they found the victim with a single stab wound to his stomach. He was taken to UCI Medical Center in Orange for surgery, but died at around 5 a.m. Monday.
