Rumors that Megan Fox is pregnant popped up again Monday, but the actress and husband Brian Austin Green still haven't confirmed or denied the news. In late March, Star magazine cited an unnamed source who said Fox, 25, and Green, 38, had just found out about the pregnancy and were telling only “close friends and family members” at that time. E! Online put its stamp on the news Monday, citing an exclusive, unnamed, nondescript source as giving confirmation of the baby on board - and saying pretty much nothing else.

The Stephen Glass and Jayson Blair fabrication scandals may have damaged journalism, but those only really affected the small portion of news consumers who read. For us picture-looking news consumers, what I've discovered may be far more disappointing. After a series of phone calls to secret sources, I found out that most of the celeb-mag "editors" who appear on TV don't actually edit, write or in any way help produce the magazine.

Regarding your story, "Tabloid Reporters on Firing Line at Don Johnson Wedding," let me make a few salient comments. I'm fascinated to hear that Mr. Johnson's flack, Elliot Mintz, now dismisses as a publicity stunt the incident in which two of our reporting personnel were fired upon and injured by buckshot as they flew by in a helicopter. Let me cite a front page story in the June 28 Aspen Times Daily. In it, the pilot of the helicopter, Vietnam veteran Burt Metcalf, says quite firmly and on the record that his craft was fired upon from the Johnson ranch and that he was treated like "a clay pigeon."
