Hachette Book Group Inc. has filed suit against actor Stephen Baldwin for $110,000. That's the advance it paid him for a book that never materialized. Baldwin signed a contract in 2007 and, by 2010, he'd failed to deliver the agreed-upon memoir , The Wrap reports. Tentatively titled "Ready to Get Dangerous? ," the New York Daily News writes that the book was slated to describe "what it means to live everyday as 'a sold out, hardcore, nothing held back Jesus freak.'" It wouldn't have been the first time Baldwin wanted to tell his story of finding religion.

Stephen Baldwin on Friday admitted in court he hadn't paid New York state income taxes for a period of three years, and then walked away a free man - albeit one who still owes $300,000 in back taxes, and has to repay them fast. Under the term of Baldwin's deal, the "Celebrity Apprentice" contestant will stay out of jail so he can earn money to pay his debt. If he pays the money back within a year, his record will be wiped clean; otherwise he's looking at a five-year probation sentence, during which he has to repay the cash.  "Unfortunately, I got some really bad suggestions and advice ... from lawyers and accountants," he told reporters outside court in New City, N.Y. He said he never intended to avoid paying taxes.

Stephen Baldwin, self-billed as "the kookiest of the Baldwin Brothers," was arrested in New York on Thursday and charged with failure to file state income taxes for three years.  Baldwin was arraigned for repeated failure to file tax returns for the years 2008, 2009 and 2010, according to the Rockland County district attorney, who said the youngest of the Baldwin Brothers owes more than $350,000 in taxes and penalties. The 46-year-old "Celebrity Apprentice" alum and talk-radio host pleaded not guilty and was released on his own recognizance.

There were, at last count, four members of that famous Long Island thespian family, the Baldwins of Massapequa, active before the cameras of Hollywood. And you have to admit it: Sometimes it's tough to tell this set of sexy siblings apart. Sure, it's easy to remember that Alec is the one who married Kim Basinger. But it was Daniel or William who showed up in "Three of Hearts," the romantic comedy about a three-way love affair?

Actor Stephen Baldwin is locked in a legal battle with fellow actor and director Kevin Costner over a plan to market an oil-spill fighting technology as the Deepwater Horizon crisis started to unfold in the Gulf of Mexico last year. In a complaint filed in U.S. District Court in New Orleans, Baldwin and a business associate say they were duped into cashing out their shares of Ocean Therapy Solutions, a Louisiana company that leased 32 centrifugal oil separators to BP for an estimated $52 million.

An hour from the heart of Hollywood in Thousand Oaks, Greenfield Ranch has drawn dozens of film, television and commercial productions over the years. Now the bucolic ranch is playing a starring role in the upcoming 20th Century Fox movie "We Bought a Zoo. " The 450-acre property, where Roy Rogers and Gary Cooper once shot westerns, was transformed over several months into a makeshift zoo that is the centerpiece of the Cameron Crowe-directed film opening Friday. The $50-million production, adapted from a memoir of the same name by former British journalist Benjamin Mee, stars Matt Damon as a widowed father who moves his family from Los Angeles to the countryside to renovate and reopen a dilapidated zoo. The book was set at Dartmoor Zoological Park in England, but the movie takes place in the fictional Rosemoor Wildlife Park, a run-down animal sanctuary in an unnamed rural Southern California town.

"A Baldwin Brothers Crib Sheet" was a hoot until I read the line about Stephen Baldwin--"hairless as a pre-adolescent" (Film Clips, April 3). What a snide, gratuitously negative way to describe a man with a smooth chest! The anonymous "Film Clips staff" reduces smoothness in men to a kind of arrested development, as if such men were stuck in puberty. Would you let this same limited standard of male beauty ostracize such "hairless" types as Arnold Schwarzenegger, who has the biggest smooth chest ever, or Tom Cruise, Richard Gere, Mel Gibson, Liam Neeson, Patrick Swayze, Michael Douglas, Gabriel Byrne, Don Johnson or good old Paul Newman?

Calvin Klein's empire nearly collapsed under a mountain of debt in 1992 before record producer David Geffen came to the rescue. Tommy Hilfiger went bankrupt before teaming up with Hong Kong apparel mogul Silas Chou to build the giant fashion house that bears his name today. But even in the topsy-turvy world of fashion, few falls have been as dramatic as that of Mossimo Giannulli. Two years ago, the Irvine menswear designer was the toast of Wall Street.
