Island Def Jam Music Group, a division of the nation's largest record company, Universal Music Group, announced the formation of a new label, Stolen Transmission Records. The new imprint is a joint venture of Island Def Jam and Rob Stevenson, an Island Records executive responsible for signing such bands as the Killers and Fall Out Boy. Stolen Transmission is expected to sign a new band, Permanent Me, upon the label's launch this year. -- Charles Duhigg
