The Vancouver, B.C., company said late Monday that it pulled the women's pants from its stores and e-commerce sites over the weekend after learning that the material was too revealing. The Luon fabric is produced in Vietnam and Taiwan and made with a mix of nylon and Lycra spandex fibers.

At a spot on Sunset Boulevard and Vine Street in Hollywood, visitors scoop up sushi, taste frozen yogurt and order lattes. But this isn't a restaurant or even a fancy supermarket. It's that Main Street staple: Walgreens. "It's like an amusement park," gushed West Hollywood resident Brent Leonesio, 30, as he eyed the line of people waiting to pick up caffeinated drinks to go. "They've kind of made this into a destination. It's actually fun to come here. " Once mainstays for late-night snack runs and toilet paper emergencies, drugstores are shaking off their stale image and going upscale.

Interior designer Frances Merrill steps inside Phukaw, a new import shop chock-full of traditional Thai home goods, apparel and vintage textiles. Merrill grabs a roll of indigo-colored embroidered fabric, a handmade necklace and hair fob to be repurposed as room decoration, and a gingham towel.

Luxurious as it may be to sip a great cup of coffee at a coffeehouse, sometimes there's nothing better than a fresh pot brewing away first thing in the morning when you've barely got your eyes open. For some, that first cup o' joe is nothing more than a jolt to get us up and running; for others, it's still a sacred art, even if we practice it in our bathrobes. If coffee is more your passion than vice, you probably take great care about where you buy your beans. But have you considered how you store them?

Assi Natural Market carries dozens of kimchi products. There are more than 200 kinds of dumplings. Its carts mimic the red and green of Sriracha sauce bottles. All of which seems to indicate a pretty standard Asian grocery. But once it opens this month in Irvine, Assi aspires to be a hybrid of cultures - like the growing and increasingly moneyed population of second-generation Asian Americans it hopes to draw into its aisles. The goal, manager Thomas Yoon said, is to become the Whole Foods of ethnic supermarkets.
