Steven Tyler and Joe Perry of Aerosmith rocked out, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner got the word out and a constellation of celebrities took their wallets out -- to the tune of $830,000 -- at a charity event and mini-concert organized by John Varvatos and funding a program helping child victims of sexual assault. That brings the total raised by the annual event over the last decade to $3.53 million, with funds going to the Stuart House , a program created by the Rape Treatment Center at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center to serve the special needs of sexually abused children.  While the silent auction and a spirited live auction helped the event easily outstrip last year's $700,000 fundraiser , honorary co-chairs Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck underscored the benefit's other goal of shining a light on the topic of childhood sexual abuse -- and programs that deal with it. "When I first visited Stuart House eight or nine years ago, I was so impressed with how safe it felt," Garner told the crowd.  In his comments, Affleck explained that he got involved because his wife had hosted an earlier incarnation of the event.

The wedding gown Margaery (Natalie Dormer) wore for her "Purple Wedding" to Joffrey (Jack Gleeson) took five to six weeks to make, costume designer Michele Clapton told Fashionista -- with one costumer dedicated to making all the rose and thorn embellishments by hand. The idea behind the design? "A creeping briar rose that, although pretty, will draw blood if you catch yourself on its thorns," Clapton said, "and can end up smothering its host. Pretty but dangerous!" Could that be a clue about what happened at the end of the episode?

The room looks so cute that it takes a moment for reality to sink in. Coloring books sit on the little table, the panels of the folding screen turn into a turreted playhouse, pastels brighten cupboard handles and doorknobs, a playful plush monkey clings to a stethoscope. But then there is the tiny examining table--with cold metal stirrups at one end. This is no playroom. The clinic is part of a program for young victims of sexual assault, run by Santa Monica Hospital's Rape Treatment Center.

Lupita Nyong'o, Kate Mara and Elle Fanning were honored in West Hollywood on Tuesday night at an event celebrating their separate May covers for Marie Claire. (Two other May cover girls, Emilia Clarke of "Game of Thrones" and Elizabeth Olsen, didn't make it to the event, but plenty of other stars turned out, including Zooey Deschanel, Mena Suvari, Nikki Reed, Jordana Brewster and Naya Rivera.) [WWD] The Vogue magazine cover featuring Kanye West and Kim Kardashian set off a furor in the fashion world, which thought the pair unworthy, but the issue appears to be on track to become a top-seller.

The Rape Center at Santa Monica Hospital on Thursday launched a child abuse treatment program believed to be the first in the nation in which medical, law enforcement and child protective services are housed in one place to improve treatment of molestation victims and to heighten prosecution of offenders. Stuart House will be a "one-stop center" where children will be given medical attention, psychiatric help and be interviewed by police and prosecutors, said Gail Abarbanel, center director.

Rock 'n' roll-loving menswear designer John Varvatos is apparently going a little bit country, tapping Willie Nelson and the singer's two youngest sons, Lukas and Micah Nelson, to be the face of the brand's fall 2013 advertising campaign. Shot by photographer Danny Clinch, the campaign images capture the troika of Nelsons in full family portrait mode at the Salisbury House in Des Moines (a '20s-era Tudor Revival manse built for cosmetics magnate Carl Weeks). Willie is wearing a black, two-button, notch lapel JV "Hampton" tuxedo, a white dress shirt with a wing collar and French cuffs (paired with his own boots, we're told)

Thanks to an online auction that allowed bidding to continue long after the music had faded, the amount raised by last month's John Varvatos Stuart House fundraiser hosted by honorary co-chairs Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner has topped $950,000 -- the largest amount in the annual event's decade-long history. The tally stood at an already-impressive $830,000 the day after the March 10 charity event and raised primarily through a spirited live auction. Pepping up the atmosphere was a live performance by Aerosmith's Steven Tyler and Joe Perry.

The annual John Varvatos Stuart House benefit, which raises funds to help the child victims of sexual abuse, can always be counted on to draw a constellation of celebrities into its worthy-cause orbit. The seventh installment, last weekend, pulled plenty of familiar faces into the tent at the corner of Robertson and Melrose, including Alice Cooper, Jim Belushi, Eric McCormack, Donovan Leitch, Perry Farrell, Harry Hamlin and Lisa Rinna, plus event hosts Kevin Bacon and Kyra Sedgwick.
