A Westlake pediatrician has been arrested on suspicion of sexual battery for allegedly fondling three women during medical examinations in Los Angeles and Ventura counties. Dr. Stuart M. Berlin, 35, was arrested Tuesday morning on one count of sexually battering a 27-year-old Calabasas woman, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Sgt. Denise Jezak.

A former Westlake pediatrician has been convicted of three misdemeanor charges of sexual battery involving Ventura County women, but the jury deadlocked on three additional charges that he molested a Calabasas resident. After two days of deliberation, the Ventura County Municipal Court jury on Friday convicted Stuart M. Berlin, 35, of fondling the three women. Berlin faces up to 18 months in jail.

The Medical Board of California will attempt to revoke the medical license of Westlake pediatrician Stuart M. Berlin, who was arrested this week on suspicion of sexual battery for allegedly fondling women during medical examinations. "We are investigating the case and we expect to submit our information to the attorney general next week," said Janie Cordray, a spokeswoman for the board in Sacramento. The board's investigation has been ongoing for several months, she said.

A former Westlake pediatrician was sentenced to six months in jail Thursday for molesting three east Ventura County women in his medical office. Stuart M. Berlin, 36, also was fined $2,000 and ordered to continue undergoing psychiatric treatment. A Ventura County Municipal Court jury convicted Berlin of the three misdemeanor sexual battery charges Oct. 30. The jury deadlocked on three counts involving a Calabasas woman.

The Ventura County district attorney's office has decided not to pursue a felony molestation charge that it had filed against a Westlake pediatrician in an incident involving a 13-year-old girl. The physician, Stuart M. Berlin, still faces trial in Ventura County Municipal Court on six misdemeanor counts of sexual battery involving four women.
