A ninth-grade student carrying a .357 Magnum revolver hijacked his school bus, shot the driver, then led police on a high-speed chase through Taylorsville, Utah, before killing himself. Police believe 15-year-old Justin Allgood put the gun in his mouth and pulled the trigger before the bus careened into a house. Students had scattered and the driver had gotten off the bus before the chase began. Allgood carried obituaries of three friends who died in traffic accidents over the last two weeks.

Police Officer Joshua Boren, 34, didn't show up for his 10 p.m. shift at the Lindon City Police Department in Utah on Thursday night. When his colleagues couldn't reach him by phone, they asked police in Spanish Fork, where Boren lived, to check on him.  Spanish Fork police said they arrived at Boren's home about 11 p.m. and found him dead, along with his wife Kelly Boren, 32, mother-in-law Marie King, 55, and two children, 7-year-old Joshua 'Jaden'...

A Thousand Oaks man drove 12 hours from his home to a Utah town with a recently purchased handgun and wounded his estranged wife and her male friend before killing himself, police said. Gary Atherton broke into his wife's four-plex apartment about 1:35 a.m. Friday, shot her once in the upper left shoulder and then shot Gilbert McKinley at least twice, said Roy police Lt. Greg Whinham. Atherton, 42, then pointed the gun at his own head and pulled the trigger, killing himself.
