The so-called Biker Bandit pleaded guilty here Tuesday to carrying out a movie-worthy heist at the Bellagio casino in which the helmet-wearing thief waved a gun at a craps table, swiped $1.5 million in chips and escaped on a black motorcycle. Anthony Carleo, 29, admitted to armed robbery and assault with a deadly weapon, sparing him a trial on multiple felony counts. He faces at least three years in prison when he is sentenced in August, said Christopher Owens, the assistant district attorney handling the case.

Starting Tuesday, the posh Regent Las Vegas resort will get a modestly priced neighbor: the Suncoast Hotel & Casino, with rooms starting at $59 per night Sunday to Thursday, $89 Fridays and Saturdays. Opened by Coast Resorts, which also runs the Barbary Coast on the Strip and the off-Strip Gold Coast and Orleans hotels, Suncoast is about 12 miles northwest of the Strip.

Mary Wilson, one of the three women who soared to stardom as the Supremes, will bring her soulful stylings to Las Vegas ' Suncoast Hotel & Casino on May 11 and 12. More than 50 years have passed since three teenagers growing up in the Detroit projects -- Florence Ballard, Diana Ross, and Wilson -- began singing together. After being signed by Motown Records, they had 12 No. 1 singles between 1964 and 1969. The group's popularity faded with the departure of Diana Ross.

Ladies and gentlemen, start your sweet tooth. Cupcake aficionados and others are being invited to taste and help judge the Las Vegas Cupcake Bakeoff on Sunday. From noon to 3 p.m. more than 100 bakers, amateurs and professionals, will compete for cash prizes at the bake-off , which will be at the Suncoast Hotel & Casino . Ticketholders will be invited to taste the various creations and then select the top 10 contenders. The final round will be judged by a team of experts led by Justin Willman , host of Food Network's "Cupcake Wars . " Willman has hosted the popular program for eight seasons.

The heist was as brief as the spin of a roulette wheel, as dramatic as a Hollywood caper. While much of Las Vegas slumbered Tuesday, a gunman made off with $1.5 million in casino chips from the opulent Bellagio hotel and casino. What followed was something of a metaphor for this luminous gambling town. There was hype. Lots of it. And romantic notions of a real-life "Ocean's Eleven," in which a crack team of thieves plots to rip off the Bellagio and two other casinos on the Las Vegas Strip.

This was the end of Martina Bauhaus' job interview for one of the most sought-after positions in town: She put on black velvet high-cut briefs and a tight, low-cut bustier. When her name was called, she walked out of the fitting room to pose in front of a mirror--and half a dozen silent, staring men who measured her up like cattlemen at a livestock auction. She didn't get the job. "Maybe," said the slender 28-year-old, "they didn't like my body in their outfit."
