Orange County supervisors on Tuesday withdrew from their agenda a controversial proposal to extend a company's control of Sunset Marina Park at Huntington Harbour. Referring to a request for the withdrawal from the firm that operates the marina, Board of Supervisors Chairman Gaddi H. Vasquez said there was "no basis" to do anything except drop the matter from consideration.

County crews are working to repair the small bridge leading to the Sunset Aquatic Park Marina that was closed Tuesday because of damage caused by last week's heavy rains. The bridge, at the westernmost end of Edinger Avenue, did not collapse. However, several of the wood pilings which support the bridge broke, causing a crack in the structure, said Bill Roiter, public works operations manager for the county's Environmental Management Agency.
