In the musical "Avenue Q," there's a happy-go-lucky song about a dirty little computer secret. It's called "The Internet Is for Porn. " Theatergoers from the respectable middle class giggle helplessly throughout this number, but imagine how quickly the laughter would cease if government agents knocked on their door demanding to review their Internet browsing history. Such a scenario is underway in "The Nether," the daring new drama by Jennifer Haley that opened at the Kirk Douglas Theatre Sunday.

A disagreement over a well-known slice of the Southern California coast is threatening to drive a wedge between Marines and surfers, groups that had recently set aside differences and become political allies. At issue is the 2.25-mile stretch of surf and sand known as Trestles, between the San Onofre nuclear plant and the San Diego County-Orange County line. The name comes from two train trestles that parallel the ocean. To wave riders, Trestles represents seven of the primo surf breaks in the world.

In 1968, Andy Warhol and his Factory gang -- Viva, Joe Dallesandro , Taylor Mead and others -- came to the beach in La Jolla to make a movie. Warhol and Paul Morrissey shot the 16-millimeter film "San Diego Surf," and about a month later Warhol was shot and severely wounded after he returned to New York. The film was never released -- until recently. The Museum of Modern Art in New York City showed it twice last year, and now the La Jolla site of the Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego will hold the West Coast premiere of the movie March 15. The film had been partially edited at the time and editing was completed by Morrissey decades later in a commission from the Andy Warhol Foundation for Visual Arts.

Andy Warhol's 1968 movie "San Diego Surf," an unfinished work that had been locked away for more than 40 years, has been making waves in recent months after the Andy Warhol Museum released the 90-minute film for the first time at Art Basel Miami Beach in 2011 and then last year at New York's Museum of Modern Art. The movie will make its much belated West Coast premiere on March 16 close to where it was shot. The Museum of Contemporary Art San Diego will host one screening of the film that will take place at 5:30 p.m. at the museum's La Jolla location.

For millions of U.S. consumers, one screen in the living room is not enough. A new study from KPMG finds that 60% of American television viewers are devoted multitaskers, watching TV and accessing the Internet at the same time. "We continue to see that multitasking is getting bigger and bigger," said Paul Wissmann, leader of KPMG's U.S. Media & Telecommunications practice. "It's getting to older generations as well, as there are more and more options in front of them. " IN CASE YOU MISSED IT SAG 2013: Winners | Quotes | Photo Booth | Backstage | Best & Worst That has implications for network programmers and advertisers, which can no longer be sure which screen is drawing the viewer's eyes, Wissmann said.

Dylan Bruno bobbed buoy-like in his lizard-patterned wetsuit and offered some advice: "Just kind of float there for a minute. " I lowered myself into the water after not-so-gracefully wriggling into a wetsuit, gloves, hood, booties, snorkel - all the attire a woman hopes to be wearing upon meeting a chisel-cheeked actor turned avid spearfisherman. "Get comfortable," he said when I joined him. I dipped my face into the water and peered down. Kelp forests swayed 20 feet below. Garibaldi fish slowly moved out from their hiding spots and jerked back into them again.

Perhaps the best part of being a fan of One Direction is that it's not so unlike being a member of One Direction. Less than three years into their lives together, these five British boys -- Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Louis Tomlinson and Harry Styles, all of whom met in 2010 as contestants on England's "X Factor" -- still seem totally stoked on the pop-star experience, their aw-shucks exuberance so far undimmed by the paranoia and resentment...
