Danielle Bradbery beat out rivals Michelle Chamuel and the Swon Brothers to emerge as the Season 4 winner of "The Voice" on Tuesday night, giving coach Blake Shelton his threepeat. Yup, for the third straight year, and in three out of the four seasons the show has been on the air, a contestant mentored by Shelton has taken the show's top honors. "I don't give a crap, honestly, about a threepeat," Shelton had said early in the night, long before the results were revealed, insisting he was focused only on this year, when he again had two contestants in the final three.

Of course we learned on Tuesday night's season finale of "The Voice" which singer had taken this year's top honors: That would be 16-year-old budding country star Danielle Bradbery, who bested her fellow Team Blake members the Swon Brothers (third place) and Team Usher's Michelle Chamuel (runner-up) for the win, earning proud coach and birthday boy Blake Shelton his third straight victory. But that revelation wasn't handed to us straight off the bat. Nope. We got the results only in the last five minutes of the show.

It's down to just three in the final week of "The Voice": funny Oklahoma siblings the Swon Brothers and 16-year-old country cutie Danielle Bradbery, of Team Blake, and Team Usher's expressive, earnest Michelle Chamuel. On Monday night, each of them sang one new song, selected either by or with input from the contestant's coach; one old song, reprising a "defining moment" from the season; a duet with the coach; and a group number with the other finalists and, ultimately, with this season's top 16 contestants.

On Monday night, "The Voice" marked Memorial Day with a campfire, a porch swing, bedazzled cowboy boots and Blake Shelton's country-boy tribute song, "Boys 'Round Here," an appealing slice of American cheese if ever there was one.  It also brought us more showstopper performances as the Top 8 - three singers each from Teams Adam and Blake, and one each from Teams Shakira and Usher - did their best to keep their dreams alive for one more week....

Not sure who you expected to get sent home on "The Voice" this week, as the Top 8 got whittled down to the Top 6. Sarah Simmons was on my list. Judith Hill wasn't. Both were eliminated on Tuesday night in what was, at first glance, at least half a shocker. Certainly Adam Levine, whose team both singers were on, was pretty stunned. "What?" he mouthed to Shakira, whose sole remaining team member, Sasha Allen, Levine had tossed over in favor of Hill during the Battle Rounds. Allen made the Top 6, as did Usher's only singer, Michelle Chamuel.

Things are moving quickly on "The Voice" this season, and on Monday, it was on to the Battle Rounds, when the coaches pair up singers from their teams for competitive duets on a stage that looks like a boxing ring. In this phase, the coaches are both mentor, helping shape the singers' performances, and judge, picking one vocalist to progress to the next phase in the competition and sending the other home - unless another coach rescues the eliminated contestant with a "steal. " Each coach gets two steals per season, and on Monday, Shakira used up all two of hers, snagging both discarded contestants from Team Adam.

For the second and final night of Knockouts on "The Voice" Tuesday, the members of Teams Blake and Usher took the stage in pairs to vie for the live rounds. As Teams Adam and Shakira had done the night before, they selected their own songs and, after receiving advice from their coaches, tried to best their fellow team members/opponents. Unlike the previous night, the evening brought a few unexpected victories and eliminations. For his first matchup, Shelton paired country cutie Savannah Berry with dark horse country dude Justin Rivers.

Blake Shelton and Shakira's teams stepped out live for the first time on "The Voice" on Tuesday night, as Teams Adam and Usher had done the previous night, to compete for audience votes as well as their coach's favor and vie for a spot in the top 12. The evening brought some terrific performances, including a riveting duet by Shelton and Shakira on Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now. " Shakira may have a citified sound and style, right down to her...
