Taft High's Donald Dozier didn't come close to matching his 161-yard, five-touchdown performance of a week ago, but he didn't object to sharing the ball Friday night against Chatsworth. Behind the running of Dozier, Cornell Collier and Kevin Wolfe, who combined to rush for 212 yards, Taft grabbed a piece of the Sunset League championship for the first time since 1977, defeating Chatsworth, 13-3, at Taft. "This team is a lot better than last year's," Collier said.

Carl Peterson and Steve Silver of University High, doubles partners for just two weeks, scored an impressive 6-1, 6-4 victory over Ken Lynn and Greg Pitters of Taft in the City individual championships at The Racquet Centre in Studio City. After Peterson and Silver easily won the first set, they appeared to be on their way to a rout. But Lynn and Pitters rallied to take a 4-3 second set lead before Peterson and Silver won three straight to take the match.
