What would Tami Taylor do? It's a question plenty of us - or at least those of us who'd like to emulate the perfectly coiffed character played by Connie Britton for five seasons on “Friday Night Lights”   -  ask ourselves on a regular basis. Now, following Texas state Sen. Wendy Davis' historic 13-hour filibuster , it's become a rallying cry for abortion rights advocates. On Monday, Britton announced a collaboration with Planned Parenthood on limited edition T-shirts designed to show opposition to Senate Bill 5 ,  the proposed legislation that would dramatically restrict access to abortion in the state.

"Nashville" star Connie Britton appeared on Bravo's "Watch What Happens Live" on Monday and talk inevitably turned to the possibility of Britton returning to her most famous role, that of Texas spitfire Tami Taylor, wife of Coach Eric Taylor on the much loved NBC/DirecTV series "Friday Night Lights. " Britton has been the most vocal about the possibility of a reunion, and she has given varying answers, but her reason for the delay is surprising. Apparently, we have the coach himself to blame.

It happened to Matthew Bomer one day at the airport. "I noticed myself at the ticket booth in Houston trying to charm myself into a first-class seat with the girls at the ticket counter," says the actor, who plays smooth-talking forger Neal Caffrey on USA Network's "White Collar. " "When you spend 12 to 15 hours a day on a role, a strange symbiosis happens where you influence the character and the character influences your life. " On some level, it happens to most actors, and no surprise: Spending 70 or more hours a week inhabiting the life of a fictional construct can tend to blur the lines.

As I began to read the paper on Monday, I was pleased with the women's Final Four tournament coverage. This was short-lived as I turned the page and viewed the men's bracket. The coverage of the men's Final Four was written in more detail, and the bracket illustration was in color and in multidimensional type. The women's bracket was in simple text and considerably less attractive. This is gender discrimination! I am a teacher and try hard to break down the walls of discrimination in our society.

UNDERRATED Jeff Mangum's return : This singer-songwriter behind the beloved indie-folk band Neutral Milk Hotel could've been filed on the other side of this column given the fierce, cultish devotion his 1998 album "In the Aeroplane Over the Sea" has inspired. But after dropping out of the public eye for years, Mangum's recent tour that included a goose bump-raising stop among the Occupy Wall Street protesters shows he deserves an even bigger following. Connie Britton in 'American Horror Story' : It says something about the magnetic quality of Britton's acting that even when surrounded by the most cringe-inducing material from creator Ryan Murphy she remains unwaveringly watchable.
