The news that TV funny ladies Amy Poehler and Tina Fey would co-host the Golden Globes on Jan. 13 was met with a chorus approval from fans when it was announced Monday. The appointment of two hilarious and accomplished, fortysomething women to one of the most high-profile hosting gigs in Hollywood is certainly something to celebrate, but so is the prospect of seeing these frequent collaborators onstage together once again. Their partnership goes back to at least 2001, when Poehler joined the cast of “Saturday Night Live.” By then, Fey had been head writer at the legendary show for two years and had just started appearing in sketches.

NBC funnywomen Tina Fey and Amy Poehler will host the Golden Globes next year. The gig will reunite the "SNL" alums. Already familiar with the ceremony with their respective TV shows - Fey is the creator and star of "30 Rock," which bids farewell this season, and Amy Poehler stars in "Parks and Recreation" - the friends will impart their comic talents as hosts of the movie and television fete. “Having both Tina Fey and Amy Poehler on board to host this year's festivities is a major coup,” said Paul Telegdy, president of alternative and late night programming, NBC Entertainment.

With “30 Rock” winding down its seven-season run in just a few months, Tina Fey has a lot on her mind: namely, what will happen to Tracy Morgan once the show is over. On Wednesday night Fey paid a visit to “Late Night,” where her former “Weekend Update” co-anchor Jimmy Fallon asked about what it's like working now on “30 Rock,” knowing the end is in sight. “I'm sad every day,” she said. “Half the day I'm crying, then I'm like, 'I'm sick of you people!

NEW YORK - When "30 Rock" premiered in the fall of 2006, it was expected to be crushed by NBC's other new series, also set behind the scenes of a late-night sketch comedy show, Aaron Sorkin's heavily hyped "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip. " "The first year, our biggest concern was that we thought that NBC had this very clear imperative to choose between us and 'Studio 60,'" recalls Alec Baldwin, who plays slick corporate executive Jack Donaghy on the sitcom, which launches its final, 13-episode season Thursday night.

With the end of "30 Rock"in sight, Tina Fey is no doubt weighing her options for what she wants to do with her career next. She could always star in another movie, write another book or create another TV series. But on the 4th of July, she presented fans with a surprising new possibility: rapper. On Wednesday, "Community's" Donald Glover released a mixtape for free download through his website under his rap name Childish Gambino. The album, called "Royalty," features a host of guest rappers including RZA, Ghostface Killah, Beck and lesser known performers, such as Danny Brown and Schoolboy Q. And yes, Glover's old "30 Rock" boss also makes her rapping debut.

Tina Fey owes Sarah Palin; after all, it was Fey's spot-on impersonation of the former Republican vice presidential candidate that helped earn her an Emmy for"Saturday Night Live" in 2009. But this year, while Fey will almost certainly be up for television's top award again for her show"30 Rock," it's quite likely that another actress will get a nod for her Palin posturing. And Fey couldn't be happier for Julianne Moore, who nails Palin in the HBO movie "Game Change. " "She's fantastic!

- Producers, take note. This is what Tina Fey would like to do in a movie: "Walk away from an explosion. Speak very fast German, then kill a Nazi. And land the Millennium Falcon in a dangerous situation. Those are the only three things I aspire to do on film. And all of those things should be in the same film. " Short of Harrison Ford's allowing her to remake his oeuvre , Fey is likely to end up disappointed. Not that the lack of those things is preventing her from making movies - or Emmy-winning TV series.

"Apollo, Apollo" (Season 3) Summary: In which the writing staff discovers old phone sex commercials Liz Lemon did to make money in her salad days. Fey's take: "It was one of the most fun sequences we've ever done - Jack Donaghy ends up laughing so hard he vomits. " Multiple episodes (Season 5 and 6) Summary: Margaret Cho stars as Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il/Kim Jong-Un. Fey's take: "To have witnessed that and helped to cause that to happen gives me great joy. Washington is full of nerds. I know. I speak nerd, not fluently mind you, at least not anymore. But I certainly know more than a few phrases memorized from a Berlitz nerd-to-English phrase book. I can talk Dungeons & Dragons (both D&D and AD&D). I know about the Golden Age of Comics (as in comic books -- if you thought that was a reference to Bob Newhart's heyday, subtract 20 nerd points right there). Anyway, if you spend any time in Washington you'll find nerds. What happens is most of them sublimate their fixations with comics, or baseball cards, or 1960s British comedies to policy minutiae and political arcana.
