Singer-actress Hilary Duff has sold her Toluca Lake estate for slightly less than its asking price of $5.5 million. The buyers are designer Don Stanzione and Sheri Callan, owner of Callan Advertising, which focuses on the independent film industry. The reinvented Mediterranean mansion, built in 1951, features a central courtyard, high ceilings, an industrial-style kitchen, a gym, a billiards room, multiple offices, art and dance studios, a bar, five bedrooms, six bathrooms and 9,277 square feet of living space.

The whispering about town is that "Ghost Whisperer" star Jennifer Love Hewitt has listed a house in Toluca Lake for sale at $2.895 million and is trying to lease out another house she owns up the street. The traditional-style house for sale was built in 1952. It features a flexible floor plan, an office, six bedrooms, six bathrooms and 5,921 square feet of living space. The quarter-acre site includes a swimming pool and a patio with a built-in bar. Public records show the property was purchased in 1998 for $1.695 million.

Politicians, advocacy groups and neighborhood activists warned Wednesday that boundary lines drawn up by the Los Angeles Redistricting Commission for new council districts will reduce the number of Latino lawmakers and favor certain candidates in coming years. Assemblyman Gilbert Cedillo (D-Los Angeles) said the map released last week was drawn to help his likely opponent in the upcoming election in a Westlake-to-Lincoln Heights district. Cedillo said his home was cut out of the district now represented by Councilman Ed Reyes, who leaves office in June 2013.

Patricia A. Disney Philanthropist, ex-wife of Walt Disney's nephew Roy Patricia A. Disney, 77, who grew up as a neighbor of Roy E. Disney in Toluca Lake and was married to him for more than 50 years, died Friday of Alzheimer's disease, her family announced. She was the vice chairman of Shamrock Holdings Inc., the investment company for the Roy E. Disney family. Patricia married Roy, Walt Disney's nephew, in 1955, and they had four children, who survive her. After the couple divorced in 2007, he remarried in 2008 and died at 79 in 2009.

A Toluca Lake home still referred to as the Bing Crosby Estate despite a succession of other entertainment industry owners has sold for $4.02 million. The singer and actor lived on the property from 1936 until early January 1943, when the 20-room house there was gutted in a Christmas tree fire, according to Times archives. Crosby was out at the time of the fire. His wife, Dixie Lee , and their four sons escaped injury. The damage to the structure and its contents was estimated at $200,000, and the family's cocker spaniel, a complete collection of Crosby's recordings, his golf trophies and his pipe collection were lost.

Actor Jason Priestley has put his Toluca Lake home on the market for $2.1 million. A courtyard leads to the entrance of the gated 3,266-square-foot Mediterranean house, which was built in 1990 and recently refurbished. The family room opens to a formal dining room and covered patio. The master bedroom suite includes a stone fireplace and cathedral ceilings for a total of three bedrooms and 31/2 bathrooms. There is a swimming pool and a spa. Known in the '90s for playing Brandon Walsh on "Beverly Hills, 90210," the 42-year-old Priestley now stars on the Canadian sitcom "Call Me Fitz.

Actor-composer Alan Thicke and his actress wife, Tanya, have listed their Toluca Lake compound for sale at $4.8 million or for lease at $13,500 a month, the Multiple Listing Service shows. The Spanish Colonial, built in 1934, sits behind gates on a flat acre lot with a north-south lighted tennis court, an outdoor entertaining area and a swimming pool with a poolside kitchen and covered eating area. The living and media room has a carved wood-beam ceiling and a fireplace. The master bedroom suite features a spa tub, a sauna, a balcony, a fireplace, a study and walk-in closets.

Actor Scott Baio, his brother Steven and his sister Stephanie have listed the Toluca Lake home where their mother lives at $4,995,000. The 11,000-square-foot house, a guesthouse and a swimming pool sit on more than a half-acre of gated grounds. The master suite includes a sitting room, a fireplace, a separate gym and an office. There are seven bedrooms and eight bathrooms total, plus a 10-car garage. The late Mario Baio had purchased the property in 1994 for $1,305,000, public records show.
