Deposed Drake Coach Tom Abatemarco has found a new home as an assistant at the University of Colorado, head Coach Joe Harrington announced Tuesday. Abatemarco resigned from his head coach position at Drake in February after his team revolted and a university investigation found he had demeaned players.

Lynn King, a former coach and administrator at Northern Iowa, today was named athletic director for a Drake program trying to bind the wounds left by a basketball player revolt last winter. King, 44, was appointed by Drake President Michael Ferrari after a nationwide search that lasted 4 1/2 months. More than 100 people sought the job, which opened when Curt Blake resigned June 1.

Former basketball player Terrell Jackson has sued Drake University for fraud, alleging the school reneged on a promise to provide him an education. Jackson was recruited by former Coach Tom Abatemarco in 1988 after attending several schools, including Minnesota and Cincinnati. He quit the team this winter in a dispute that led to the resignation of Abatemarco, now an assistant at Colorado.

Connecticut's upset of Duke on Monday night in the national championship game posted a 17.2 national rating and a 27 share, the lowest since CBS began televising the event in 1982. It was the lowest-rated NCAA championship game since the 1972 UCLA-Florida State final, played in the afternoon. The 1999 tournament as a whole had a 6.8/15 share, down 7% from last year's 7.3/17.

Five players average between 9.0 and 13.7 points. Sacramento is coming off an 85-71 loss at Southern Utah.
