Stanford backup quarterback Trent Edwards will remain hospitalized through the weekend after undergoing emergency surgery on his left thigh, which was injured in Saturday's loss to California. After the game, Edwards returned home with what was believed to be a minor bruise, but was hospitalized after the leg began to swell and cause severe pain. Three teammates were with him and called the team's trainers. He underwent two procedures to alleviate pressure on the bruise.
