The shots weren't falling, but Shaquille O'Neal still had one of his best all-around games of the season, grabbing every important rebound, coming within an assist of his first triple-double as a Laker and blocking the 76ers' final shot with a thunderous swipe. "Shaq didn't have a great offensive game," guard Ron Harper said. "But it shows the kind of player he is, he still had an impact on this team . . .

Jason Kidd's series-long slump ended, Kenyon Martin was energetic and the New Jersey Nets evened things up with the Detroit Pistons in yet another lopsided game. Kidd had 22 points, 11 assists and 10 rebounds for his seventh career postseason triple-double, scoring nine consecutive third-quarter points when the Nets broke the game open for a 94-79 victory in Game 4 of their best-of-seven Eastern Conference semifinal series Tuesday night.

It sounded like a trick question to many. Which Andrew Bynum would the Lakers prefer? The one who posted his first career triple-double in the Lakers' 103-88 Game 1 victory over Denver with 10 points, 10 rebounds and an NBA playoff-record 10 blocks?  Or the one who posted 27 points and nine rebounds in the Lakers' 104-100 Game 2 win over the Nuggets? The Lakers had varying ways of wiggling out of their answer. Lakers power forward Pau Gasol pointed out with a smile that "both Andrews are good.

After going 89 seasons without officially recording a triple-double, North Carolina has collected two in three games as it prepares for Saturday's game against UCLA at Pauley Pavilion. Chris Paul had 27 points, 15 assists and 10 rebounds, his fifth triple-double of the season, and also had seven steals as the New Orleans Hornets defeated the Philadelphia 76ers, 101-86, on Monday night. Peja Stojakovic highlighted a 26-point performance with six three-point baskets for New Orleans, which was badly outscored inside but made up for it with 14 three-pointers as a team.

Kevin Love had 37 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists, the first triple-double of his career, and the Minnesota Timberwolves cruised past the Utah Jazz, 121-104, Saturday night in Salt Lake City. Minnesota was again playing without starters Nikola Pekovic (ankle) and Kevin Martin (finger), but Love filled the void, keeping one step ahead of the Jazz throughout the game. He compiled all his statistics in just 32 minutes to earn a spot on the bench for the final nine minutes of the Timberwolves' third runaway win over the Jazz this season.

LeBron James had 30 points, 11 rebounds and 10 assists for his second triple-double of the season, leading the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 102-87 victory over the Memphis Grizzlies on Tuesday night. James scored only nine points in the opening half, then had 17 in the third quarter and completed his triple-double with a behind-the-back pass to J.J. Hickson for a layup in the fourth. Kyle Lowry led the Grizzlies with a career-high 25 points.

Chris Paul nearly showed Jason Kidd what a quadruple-double looks like, putting up 33 points, 11 assists, 10 rebounds and seven steals in the New Orleans Hornets' 104-97 victory over the slumping Dallas Mavericks on Wednesday night. Paul had to settle for his fourth triple-double of the season, one he's certain to savor because it came against Kidd, the active leader in that category and the guy who started ahead of him on the gold medal-winning U.S. Olympic team.
