UC Irvine 84, at Loyola Marymount 78: Michael Hunter scored 17 points, including two three-point baskets in the final minute, to complete the rally for the Anteaters (2-1), who trailed by 14 in the first half. Eric Wise also scored 17 for Irvine, which used an 18-2 run to get back into the game before halftime. Drew Viney had a career-high 30 points for the Lions (1-3), whose losses have all been by six points or fewer. Irvine took its first lead, 42-40, on a Hunter jump shot with 17:54 left.

MEN at Seattle 82, UC Irvine 81: Charles Garcia made two free throws with 16 seconds left to give the Redhawks (6-5) their 14th consecutive home victory. Garcia had 29 points to lead all scorers. Michael Hunter had 23 points for the Anteaters (5-4), but he lost the ball as he was trying to get off the final shot and Garrett Lever scooped it up for Seattle and ran out the clock. WOMEN USC 60, at Arizona State 56: The Trojans overcame a nine-point deficit in the final 3:14 to beat the 19th-ranked Sun Devils in the Pacific 10 Conference opener for both teams. A layup by Briana Gilbreath, who had 16 points, gave USC (7-5) its first lead with 51.2 seconds remaining. Ashley Corral hit three free throws in the final 22.4 seconds to hold off Arizona State (8-4). UCLA 67, at Arizona 58: The Bruins (8-4) trailed for most of the game before a decisive 12-0 run in the second half.
