Three U.N. workers were arraigned on charges of threatening to kill the U.S. ambassador to Kenya and four other people in an attempt to cover up an extortion racket. Letters threatening Ambassador Johnnie Carson, the top U.S. immigration official at the embassy, Joseph Martin, and three UNHCR workers were written as if they were from suspected terrorist mastermind Osama bin Laden, prosecutors said.
