Universal Broadband Networks Inc., an Irvine high-speed communications carrier that experienced several executive departures earlier this month, has named Stephen E. Pazian as chairman. He succeeds Jon H. Marple, who resigned. Pazian, who joined Universal earlier this year, previously served as president and chief executive of Bell South's MobileComm unit. IJNT.net Inc., which provides integrated high-speed communications to businesses and consumers, said Monday that its stock will be listed on NASDAQ's national market system, effective today. Shares will trade under the symbol IJNT. The company also said it will change its name to Universal Broadband Networks, subject to shareholder approval, within the next 75 days.

Universal Broadband Networks Inc., an Irvine high-speed communications carrier, said Tuesday that it has filed for bankruptcy protection. The company opted to file for bankruptcy after failing to secure significant new vendor financing, a result of depressed market conditions in the telecommunications equipment and services industries, Michael A. Sternberg, chief executive officer and president, said in a prepared statement.

IJNT.net Inc., an Irvine provider of integrated high-speed communications services, said it has changed its name to Universal Broadband Networks. The company said in a press release that it changed its name to better describe the services it provides. It said the Nasdaq national market system will determine later this week when the company's new ticker symbol, UBNT, will take effect. The company's stock, under ticker IJNT, closed Monday at $4 a share, unchanged from Friday.
