Each year for the past six years, Raymond Lyons has gone backpacking with his brother, Ron, as well as his three sons, Dan, Tim and Philip. In September, the group visited Ediza Lake, about 10 miles northwest of Mammoth Lakes. As Lyons stood on the shore of Ediza one evening, the sky glowed a reddish-yellow, silhouetting Mt. Facebook Inc. and Dropbox are teaming up to create a feature that will be helpful for study, work and productivity groups on the popular social network. The two tech companies announced Wednesday that Facebook users can now quickly upload files from their personal Dropbox accounts to their Facebook Groups and easily share the files with group members. The group's file will also be automatically updated each time the user edits it. Picture Gallery: Fresh Facebook Features Dropbox said the new feature will roll out starting Wednesday.

During a visit to Ireland last September, Martha Bernie stayed in County Sligo at Temple House, a Georgian mansion set in a private estate spread across more than 1,000 acres. As she drove down the estate's long driveway, she stopped to photograph two donkeys. "When I rolled down the car window, they came over and said hello," she said. During a trip to South Africa in July 2011, Julie Kirby visited Table Mountain, which overlooks Cape Town. On a clear day, she rode a cable car to the top, taking in the view from more than 3,500 feet high. "Just as I was capturing all this from a safe distance with a photo, up popped these two climbers from the mountain's face," she said. "I had never seen such a large gathering of [sea lions] before, all of whom appeared peaceful, playful and at ease with both nature and with each other, all the while completely oblivious to my presence," he said. Michael Tong and his wife, Nancy, traveled to Peru in March to hike the Inca Trail up to Machu Picchu. As they were adjusting to the altitude in Cuzco, they visited the salt mines of Maras about 20 miles northwest. During the drive, Tong spotted this Peruvian girl with a herd of donkeys and sheep.
