Officials were investigating on Tuesday who etched four swastikas at Columbine High School the day students returned to classes for the first time since a shooting massacre four months ago. Two swastikas were drawn in a girls' restroom outside the counseling office, one was found in a boys' restroom and another was etched on a retaining wall at the school's entrance. They have since been erased.

In what the police chief branded "an act of domestic terrorism," four upscale homes under construction were destroyed and two damaged early Friday by arsonists who left banners bearing the name of a radical environmental group that has claimed responsibility for two other recent fires. The blazes occurred six weeks after an arson fire destroyed an apartment complex under construction in San Diego, causing $50 million in damage.
