A brief look at the careers of the athletes who will be inducted tonight in Ventura: DAVE ABDALLA A starter for the Newbury Park High baseball team from 1968-71, Abdalla, 41, was the first player in Ventura County to earn a varsity letter four times. Only Rio Mesa's Dmitri Young has equaled the accomplishment. In 1976, a newspaper selected him as the "best athlete" ever from the Conejo Valley.

La Jolla Country Day 81, San Luis Obispo Mission Prep 50--Freshman guard Candice Wiggins scored 32 points for La Jolla Country Day (28-5) in the Division V final at the Pyramid. Wiggins made 12 of 17 shots, six of seven free throws and pulled down eight rebounds. June Brubaker made six three-point baskets and finished with 18 points. Becky Brown scored 15 points for Mission Prep (22-8).

Girls' water polo semifinals will be played Friday at neutral sites. Championship games in Divisions I, III, IV and V will be played Monday at Belmont Plaza in Long Beach. The Division II final is scheduled for March 28 at Pepperdine. The schedule for the City Section basketball semifinals will be set today. Boys' and girls' games in the Championship and Invitational divisions were originally scheduled to be played Saturday at Southwest College. But a conflict has forced a change to games Friday at 6 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. The Invitational finals will be played March 2 at Southwest College.
