A Woodland Hills woman on trial for the murder of her pornographer husband testified Wednesday that a Mafia enforcer had threatened to kill the man shortly before he was gunned down on a Northridge street. Testifying in her own defense, Sharon Snyder, 41, also scoffed at the accusation that she had hired co-defendant Victor Diaz to murder her husband, sex video producer Theodore J. Snyder.

The widow of slain pornographer Theodore J. Snyder and the man she is accused of hiring to kill him pleaded not guilty Thursday to first-degree murder charges. Sharon Snyder, 39, of Woodland Hills denied offering Victor Diaz, 47, $20,000 to kill her husband so she could gain control of his assets. Theodore Snyder was a flamboyant figure in the pornography world whose body was discovered near his parked car on a Northridge Street on Aug. 1.

A teen-ager pleaded not guilty to firing the gunshots that killed a Fresno man during a four-hour Labor Day weekend shooting rampage. Jermaine Johnson was arraigned on a first-degree murder charge and 17 other charges Friday. He was identified as the gunman in the death of Victor Diaz, 49, who was shot in front of his home, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Gary Hoff. Nine others were wounded in the shootings. A juvenile court official ruled earlier this week that Johnson would be prosecuted as an adult.

A 24-year old Encino man awaiting trial on a narcotics charge was in critical condition Wednesday night after he was stabbed by another inmate at the Los Angeles County Men's Central Jail, the county Sheriff's Department said. Javier Karo was stabbed four times in the shoulder, chest and back with a handmade knife as he walked back to his cell from the showers, Deputy Rick Adams said. Karo was taken to the County-USC Medical Center, Adams said.

He took it at midfield, dribbled some 20 yards, then left-footed it past Santa Barbara San Marcos keeper Eric Foote for a 2-1 victory.
