Fresh from a round of venture capital-raising that netted the company $8.75 million, fast-growing Web "hosting" provider Virtualis Systems Inc. has agreed to lease the 43,000-square-foot top floor of Media Studios North, an office development near the Burbank-Glendale-Pasadena Airport. The company, headed by 25-year-old Chief Executive Chris Lyman, started in a house three years ago before moving to interim facilities in Studio City.

Marks has been a director with the 3-year-old company since last year. Marks founded TCC, an Apple and HP value-added reseller in Washington, D.C. Virtualis Systems Inc. provides site management and e-commerce software, featuring total merchant payment integration and catalog creation tools.

Gallagher, executive vice president and general counsel of Hilton Hotels Corp., has assumed the additional position of chief administrative officer of the Beverly Hills-based hotel operator. Gallagher reports to Hilton President and Chief Executive Stephen F. Bollenbach. Before joining Hilton, Gallagher served for five years as president and chief executive of The Griffin Group Inc., the New York- and Beverly Hills-based management firm for all of Merv Griffin's business activities.
