If you're more of a musical-theater type than a clubber, then Walt Disney Concert Hall will serve up a Champagne-addled distraction. Kristin Chenoweth will perform numbers from her bright and starry repertoire, including "Glee," "Promises, Promises," "Wicked" and much more. Architect Gehry's design for the Walt Disney Concert Hall resembles nothing so much as a collection of "space trash" somehow corraled and brought to Earth. It seems almost inconceivable that this heap of stuff, regardless of how well it can be executed (the selection of the word executed was not a frivolous one), should ever be considered outside of Disneyland or Disney World. Somehow, calling it the Walt Disney Concert Hall really isn't enough. "Goofy Goes Galactic" should certainly share in the credits.

The China Philharmonic has canceled a worldwide tour that included a May 22 performance at Walt Disney Concert Hall. The tour, which included piano soloist Lang Lang, was canceled because of a withdrawal of a key sponsor, according to a Los Angeles Philharmonic spokesman. He said the Philharmonic would give refunds to ticket holders.
